Taxi & Upper

Located in a former taxi garage on Zuidstationstraat, Taxi was until recently the only restaurant in Ghent dedicated solely to fish. The space has been transformed into a warm, eclectic interior with industrial influences, inspired by the fire and heat of the grill and wood-fired ovens. On the upper floor, Upper brings a fine dining meat experience to life, focusing on pure, high-quality ingredients grilled to perfection. Together, the two restaurants create a unique gastronomic concept under one roof, a fine dining garage celebrating both land and sea. The building’s raw charm is elevated by vibrant wall illustrations from Ghent street artist Musketon and the creative team at Ship of Fools. Their bold artwork and typography infuse the space with an extra visual layer, merging old architecture with modern artistic expression.
